Mallo began with one very ordinary frustration: towels should be better than they are.
They should not leave lint on damp skin. They should not feel rough after a few washes. They should not stay wet for hours, overwhelm the laundry basket or look like an afterthought in a room people use every day.
We wanted a towel that felt genuinely comforting, worked beautifully and added something to the bathroom around it.
We did not set out to make another ordinary towel. We set out to make the towel we wished already existed.
That idea became the Marshmallow Towel—and the beginning of Mallo.
Where Our Story Began
The original Marshmallow Bath Towel 2.0 is Mallo’s signature plush towel: a full-size bath towel with rounded, cloud-like ridges and a soft, velvety surface.
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Material | 85% polyester and 15% nylon |
| Weight | 380 GSM; approximately 250 g per bath towel |
| Size | 70 × 140 cm / 27.6 × 55.1 in |
| Texture | Sculpted Marshmallow ridges with a velvety plush hand |
| Lint | Designed to be lint-free |
| Care | Machine washable |
| Purpose | Softness, absorbency, lighter handling, quick drying and bathroom style |
It does not look or feel like a conventional looped cotton terry towel. The distinctive ridges give the towel its Marshmallow appearance while creating a large textured surface designed to pull moisture away quickly.
We Started With the Problems We Wanted to Solve
We did not begin by trying to create another ordinary towel brand.
Our starting point was frustration with towels that looked attractive on a shelf but felt rough, heavy or unremarkable once they entered daily life.
Our goal was to make the towel we actually wanted to use:
- Immediately soft against the skin
- Fast and satisfying at absorbing water
- Light enough to wash, carry and dry easily
- Distinctive enough to improve the look of a bathroom
- Durable enough for real everyday routines
- Cute and comforting without looking childish
That philosophy still shapes us today: everyday essentials should feel as good as they look.
Designing the Towel We Wanted to Use
Designed to stay lint-free
Unlike new cotton terry that can release loose staple fibers, Signature Plush is designed not to leave towel fuzz on skin or clothing.
Fast water pickup
The fine-fiber construction and sculpted surface are designed to pull moisture away quickly without requiring a heavy towel.
Full size without the heavy load
At approximately 250 g, the bath towel offers broad coverage while taking up less laundry and storage weight than many dense cotton towels.
A towel that decorates the bathroom
The rounded ridges and curated colors make the towel part of the room rather than something to hide behind a door.
What Our Customers Noticed First
The unusual texture can surprise people at first. It feels softer and more velvety than conventional terry, and its lighter weight may not match what some shoppers have been taught to associate with absorbency.
Then they use it.
Customer feedback repeatedly focuses on how quickly the towel dries the body without feeling rough or excessively heavy. Reviews describe it as highly absorbent, fast drying and lighter than expected, while still feeling plush.
Why this matters: Towel weight alone does not determine performance. Fiber fineness, density, surface structure and water movement all affect how efficiently a towel works.
Creating a Texture That Became Ours
We did not add our signature ridges only for decoration.
They create the visual identity of the towel, but they also increase the amount of textured surface contacting the skin. The result is a design with purpose: plush enough to feel comforting, structured enough to look distinctive and practical enough for daily use.
Folded in a linen closet, the ridges create a soft layered effect. Hung over a rail, they add shape, color and texture to a bathroom that might otherwise feel flat.
That combination—highly functional, highly aesthetic and genuinely cute—is central to why the Marshmallow Towel stands apart.
The Four Colors That Defined Our Beginning
The original Marshmallow collection launched around four soft, highly recognizable colors:
Soft playful pink
A cheerful pastel designed to add warmth without overwhelming the bathroom.
Warm neutral cream
A calm, versatile shade that fits minimalist, cozy and spa-inspired spaces.
Modern soft gray
A clean neutral for contemporary bathrooms and mixed household palettes.
Dreamy muted purple
A gentle color that keeps the collection playful while remaining easy to style.
Even the color names reinforced the original idea: these were not meant to feel like institutional towels. They were designed to bring a little softness, personality and delight into the everyday.
Letting the Marshmallow Look Evolve
As our Marshmallow community grew, we began releasing limited colors that took the same cloud-soft design in bolder directions.
Obsidian Black became one of the clearest examples: a sleek, dramatic version of a towel originally known for soft pastels.
Limited shades such as black, navy, snow white, crimson and teal allowed customers to style the same Marshmallow texture in very different bathrooms—from cute and colorful to dark, minimal and sophisticated.
The Marshmallow look was never limited to one aesthetic. The same sculpted softness can feel playful in Cotton Candy and strikingly modern in Obsidian Black.
Our Customers Gave Mallo Its Momentum
The Marshmallow Towel arrived at the intersection of several things people increasingly wanted from the home:
- Everyday products that look good on camera and in real life
- Bathroom decor with more softness and personality
- Practical products for smaller homes and laundry spaces
- Quick-drying textiles for humid bathrooms
- Lower-lint alternatives to conventional cotton terry
- Comfort that feels attainable rather than formal
Our site now features hundreds of customer reviews across its products, with buyers frequently mentioning softness, absorbency, drying speed, lighter weight and the distinctive appearance of the towels.
That customer response is what helped turn one unusual towel into a growing bath and comfort brand.
Listening Led Us to Marshmallow 2.0
We did not stop developing the product after the first version.
Marshmallow 2.0 was introduced as a thicker, softer and fluffier evolution of the original concept, while preserving the features customers recognized:
- The cloud-like ridges
- The lightweight feel
- Fast absorbency
- Easy machine care
- Lint-free performance
- The recognizable Mallo aesthetic
The goal was not to abandon what worked. It was to refine it through customer experience and the brand’s growing understanding of what made the towel special.
Growing Beyond the Original Marshmallow Texture
Customer love for the original Marshmallow Series gave us room to explore new textures.
The Chevron Series uses the same broader philosophy—softness, absorbency, quick drying and lint-free performance—but replaces the rounded Marshmallow ridges with a more refined chevron pattern.
It offers a slightly more architectural, sophisticated look while keeping the lighter plush feel customers associate with Mallo.
The Chevron Bath Towel is also full sized at 70 × 140 cm and approximately 250 g, with an 86% polyester and 14% nylon construction.
Expanding the Mallo Ritual Beyond Towels
Our growth also began moving beyond towels.
Products such as the Coconut Pop Bath Bomb brought the same playful, sensory approach into the bath itself.
This expansion made sense for the brand. Our original purpose was never only to sell a textile. It was to make an everyday routine feel softer, calmer and more enjoyable.
Our Newest Chapter: Marshmallow Pure Cotton
The newest major evolution is the Marshmallow Pure Cotton Collection.
Some customers loved the signature Marshmallow look but still preferred natural cotton. Instead of creating a conventional cotton towel and simply adding the Mallo name, the brand applied its own design approach to the material.
| Feature | Pure Cotton approach |
|---|---|
| Fiber | 100% premium long-staple cotton |
| Weight | 430 GSM for a denser, more traditional feel |
| Technology | CloudLoom construction engineered for softness and fullness |
| Lint | Low-lint weave designed to reduce shedding over time |
| Look | The recognizable rounded Marshmallow texture |
| Purpose | Classic cotton familiarity with a more distinctive Mallo finish |
Pure Cotton is not meant to replace Signature Plush. It gives customers two different paths to the same broader Mallo idea:
- Signature Plush: lighter, quicker drying, lint-free and velvety
- Pure Cotton: natural, denser, low lint and traditionally plush
Which Marshmallow Towel Is Right for You?
What matters most in your next towel?
Best match: Signature Plush Marshmallow 2.0 for low lint, lower finished weight, quick drying and cloud-like softness.
Best match: Marshmallow Pure Cotton for long-staple cotton, 430 GSM density and the signature rounded Mallo look.
Best match: a limited-edition Marshmallow drop such as Obsidian Black, Navy Blue or another seasonal shade.
Best match: the Chevron Series for plush performance with a sharper geometric texture.
What Has Stayed the Same
Our purpose is intentionally simple: make the routines people repeat every day feel better.
A towel is used constantly. It touches the skin, hangs in the room, fills the washer and returns to the same rail again and again. Small improvements therefore add up:
- Softer contact with the skin
- Less lint left behind
- Faster and easier drying
- Less laundry bulk
- More distinctive bathroom decor
- Colors people enjoy seeing
- Textures designed with purpose
- A little more delight after every shower
That is the idea behind Mallo: comfort does not need to be reserved for special occasions. It can be built into the objects used every morning and every night.
The Next Chapter Is Still Being Written
We continue to grow, but our relationship with customers remains central to everything we do.
Reviews, messages, photos, questions and social-media conversations help reveal what people love, what colors they want next and what parts of the everyday bath routine still need to be improved.
We welcome everyone to reach out, share honest thoughts and engage across its social channels. The brand wants the community to feel part of the journey—not simply the final destination of a product shipment.
The Marshmallow Towel began as the towel Mallo wanted to use. Its future is being shaped together with the people who use it every day.

The Marshmallow Towel gave us our answer.
From Cotton Candy, Cream Puff, Misty Gray and Lavender Haze to Marshmallow 2.0, limited-edition releases, Chevron, bath products and our newest Pure Cotton collection, every step has grown from the same belief: everyday comfort deserves thoughtful design.
